The General Assembly is ALLEA’s highest legislative body, whereby all Member Academies decide on the federation’s policy, governance bodies and budget.

The General Assembly convenes once a year and its programme typically consists of three parts: a scientific conference, a business meeting and the award ceremony of the All European Academies Madame de Staël for Cultural Values Prize

The conference sessions are devoted to presentations of papers and activities usually linked to or expanding on ALLEA core activities.

In the private business meeting, ALLEA governance and policy matters are on the agenda.
