ALLEA’s activities address the full range of structural and policy issues facing Europe in research and innovation. ALLEA involves its members and works closely with partners to provide the best available interdisciplinary science advice to policymakers and society.
How We Work
Jointly with our more than 50 Member Academies, we bring together experts from across Europe to gather and review evidence, as well as to deliberate and formulate sound scientific positions on fundamental issues related to science policy and societally relevant topics. This work is steered by the ALLEA Board, performed by dedicated working groups and expert committees, and supported by the secretariat in Berlin.
Output formats include scientific symposia, expert workshops, public consultations, policy briefs, scientific reports, statements, position and discussion papers, and best practice guidelines among others.
ALLEA continuously engages with European and other international stakeholders in the science policy arena, and provides an open platform for mutual learning and dialogue among various science-related stakeholders, decision-makers and the general public.
