Annual Report 2021/2022
The ALLEA Annual Report reviews the activities of the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities from May 2021 to April 2022. The publication covers the activities of ALLEA working groups, projects, and events, including interviews with experts on the strategic programmes of ALLEA: Research Policy, Science Advice and Science & Society.
This reporting period was marked by several changes and transitions as the world adopted new strategies to adjust to the reality of living with Covid-19, and Europe is confronted by a new humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. In the foreword, ALLEA President Antonio Loprieno underlines that, in this context, “by delivering scientific advice on how European societies can effectively anticipate, prevent, and respond to major threats and crises, we seek to provide a pertinent evidence base to inform future policies and strategies of the overarching EU crisis management framework.”
